Old Fashioned Devotional and Novel Review and Giveaway!
In my earlier post I reviewed the Old Fashioned movie you can read it here. I just finished the Old Fashioned Devotional and Novel, and I thought they were great! We are also holding a GIVEAWAY of this set, details below.
Being in chronic pain I use movies, music, and books as a distraction to help cope with the pain. I was excited I had this opportunity to review the Old Fashioned Set. As a blogger, I was given this product for sharing the post below. ALL opinions are my own. -Elizabeth
“Turning his back on his reckless lifestyle, former frat boy Clay Walsh has settled down to turn an antique shop in a small Midwestern college town….and to purse lofty and outdated theories on love and romance. But when Amber Hewson, a free-spirited woman with a gypsy soul, rents the apartment above his shop, Clay can’t help being attracted to her spontaneous and passionate embrace of life. Amber also finds herself surprisingly drawn to Clay, but his ideas about relationships are unusual to say the least, and they bring to light her own deep wounds and fears about love. They say opposites attract, but can Clay and Amber move beyond their differences and their pasts to attempt an “old fashioned” courtship?”
I thought The Old Fashioned Novel was just as good as the movie. I really enjoyed it! We have had some rainy days here in Michigan and it was perfect reading weather. I did notice the novel includes some scenes that did not make it into the movie, so I thought it was an extra bonus. 🙂
“Contrary to popular opinion, being “old fashioned” doesn’t mean you’re dull or unromantic. In fact, a true old fashioned relationship can be more exciting and romantic than anything you’ve ever experienced! So what does it mean to do things the old fashioned way? Sure, it means opening doors, holding out chairs, and taking things slow. But a true old fashioned romance goes much, much deeper than that. Inspired by the motion picture Old Fashioned, this book will show you how to reclaim the lost art of romance by introducing you to romantic love as God intended it. Regardless of your past mistakes, where you’ve been, what you’ve done, or where you are now, you can find and create a love that will last a lifetime! As you work your way through this forty-day journey of inspiring readings and questions for reflection, you’ll discover all the unique and amazing benefits of doing things the old fashioned way. And before you know it, you’ll be well on your way to creating a love story for the ages.”
I thought the Old Fashioned devotional was also excellent, and can be done in 40 days. This devotional would be great even for an older teens/young adults bible study. It breaks things down easily and gives a different perspective to look at the dating scene. I also thought it asked great questions at the end, I have been married for 13 years and I would have loved to ask some of these questions to him.
Another part of the Old Fashioned devotional I enjoyed was the idea to create a Blessing Journal. It is so easy to get focused on what we want, we miss the everyday blessings in our lives. I just thought this would be a great thing to look back on.
I really enjoyed this Old Fashioned set. The movie, the novel and devotional! You don’t have to take my word, you have a chance to see for yourself. I am holding a GIVEAWAY for a very own set of your own, that’s right you can win all 3!!!
