In the end, it is actually quite simple, and with the information below you can pretty much make anything you would normally! Just substitute these main ingredients for your everyday items, and you will now be consuming CBD in a healthy, and alternative way to smoking.
Basically, there are two main forms of ways to make edibles, “cannaoil”, and “cannabutter”. Each is exactly as you would expect, and are made in slightly different ways.
For Cannabutter you need:
- 1 oz if high CBD bud per 2 0z or unsalted butter
- Wooden ladle
- Sauce pan
- Metal strainer
- A grinder
For Cannaoil you need:
- Metal Strainer
- Heavy Saucepan
- Something to stir with
- Canola, or Vegetable Oil
- 1 oz of High CBD bud, to every 6 oz of oil.
Assuming you have gathered all of the needed items, it’s time to get working on the process of actually making the oil, or butter, and despite what you may think, it’s actually extremely easy!
For Cannabutter you need to do the following:
- Grind your bud, while you begin to simmer the butter.
- After the butter is headed, and the cannabis is ground up, add the now ground cannabis to the simmering butter.
- Allow to simmer for 45 min, stir frequently.
- Strain out the new mixture, filter out all the bud and liquid
- You now have cannabutter which you can use with anything you would cook normally with butter!
For Cannaoil you need to do the following:
- Heat the saucepan, and place the oil, either olive or canola into the pan, and leave until you can smell the aroma.
- Place the buds, which are intact, into the simmering oil, leave, and rotate the buds for 45 min.
- Strain the mixture.
- You now have cannaoil that can be used with anything in substitute of traditional cooking oils!
And there you have it! While of course there are many ways in which to do something, outlined here are some very simple, but effective ways to make cannabis edibles. Just remember, you need to use a high CBD strain for your edibles to be high in CBD, such as AC/DC, or Harlequin. With some practice, and patience you too can make some healthy alternatives for you to consume CBD in your own kitchen! Who knew it was so easy!
