Why This Cheese Board is the Perfect Go To for Your Holiday Party
Why This Cheese Board is the Perfect Go To for Your Holiday Party – Let’s face it, the holidays can be extremely stressful! Especially when you suffer with a chronic illness or chronic pain condition that drains our energy. That’s why I’m always looking for ideas on how to cut corners and save that little bit of energy I may have. If I am having a good day pain wise and can make it to a holiday party or having a group at my home, it often means I have to bring/have something to share with the rest of the group. I admit, I used to be the type that loved to be adventurous and bring something new and more than likely difficult to make recipe to the party. Since my diagnosis, I have learned I can still bring something delicious and beautiful to the party with cheese boards. I’m going to show you why this cheese board is the perfect go to for your holiday party too; it’s simple to make, gives a great variety, offers a good source of protein to balance all those holiday desserts, and it’s inexpensive to make!
What I used to make the cheese board –
I was able to throw this cheese board together in 10 minutes for around $15!
Platter – Our board was hand carved by a local man who does this as a hobby. The wood is so beautiful, I have a hard time using it for anything other than a cheese board in fear of staining it. The wood color and attention he put into it is breathtaking!
Stella Cheese – First, no cheese board or cheese platter would be complete without cheese! I love using Stella Cheese and everyone who has tried this cheese platter loves it too! Stella Cheese has an awesome selection of fine artisan cheeses crafted with a rich heritage of Italian cheese-making, dating back to 1923. No wonder why it tastes so good! For this cheese board I used Stella Parmesan and Stella Kasseri, but Stella Cheese offers so many different kind of cheese there is flavor for everyone! I was able to find these cheeses at my local grocery store.
Crackers – I used assorted crackers and garlic bread sticks.
Meat – Sliced Salami, but you can pair any meat you want with it.
Add something salty – I used Jalapeno stuffed Olives.. yum! I usually will throw some different kinds of nuts on there too, it just offers more variety.
Add something sweet – I used red grapes, sliced pear, in the center I used a peach jam that was locally made.
This cheese board is always a hit at my holiday parties and I’m sure it will be perfect for your holiday party too! I love the fact I don’t have to stand at the stove/oven for hours and my favorite part is you really can’t mess up a cheese board, no worries of burning it or under cooking it. Just get creative with things that offer variety, color, and taste.
One tip to remember is to keep extras in a sealed container for easy restocking and sealed containers make an easy way to bring home any extras, I haven’t been that lucky because it always gets eaten up pretty fast. I have learned to keep some stashed away for when I want a quick, but healthy snack!
I want to give a shout out to Stella Cheese for giving us the opportunity to work with them, I always love working with reputable companies that offer fantastic products! So the next time you’re at the store check out their cheese selection and reach for Stella Cheese, you won’t be disappointed.
